Learning To Convert DOC To PDF Via Online

I’ve been working in a Global IT Outsourcing firm for almost three years now and according to Wikipedia, it is the largest consulting firm in the world. A Fortune Global 500 company, with estimated 225,000 employees in more than 200 locations in over 120 countries. It is really a huge firm.

Currently I am assigned in Cebu City office and my team is supporting another Big Company that owns many of the world's consumer product brands  and I’m 99% sure that you have already used one of their products (assuming you are not a cave man LOL!!!).  We do their IT work, such as processing orders, invoices and other transactions interfacing plants from different countries all over the world. Note that I have not mentioned the name of the company, it's confidential….

However, in spite that I’m connected with this great company and doing sophisticated task, there are lot of things that I don’t know and some of them are just very basic yet very useful applications.

When I started learning different technologies in the web, I found so many tools and applications that I have no idea back then that they existed. (By the way I did not discover those tools myself; I learned it from my VA mentor - Jomar Hilario). Learning new tools and applications is just a plus benefit of becoming a Virtual Assistant (VA).

One tool that I find it interesting and I think very useful as well is the Doc to PDF converter. PDF means Portable Document Format.

I’m a fan of E-book because it is much cheaper compared to the conventional paper based Book. You can also find e-books in the internet that are already out of stock in some bookstores. When I have my first e-book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, I notice that it is in PDF file.

I ask my self why it is in PDF and not in Microsoft word and I stumble with these three reasons.

#1. PDF files are generally more compact (smaller in size) than the Word document and they easily preserve the original formatting.
#2. Unlike Word and other popular document formats, the contents of a PDF file cannot be modified easily. You still need an application to edit/modify it.
#3. You can view PDF files on almost any computer or even mobile phone using the web browser.

In my next post I will show you the step by step guide on how to convert DOC to PDF file through the internet FREE!!.
